2008年の並居るライバルを押しのけて、Best of E3総合部門に輝いたのはまたしてもBethesdaのFallout 3。IGNではベストRPGなどの他にも、機種別のPS3部門とXbox 360部門でも最優秀作品に選ばれており、総合で4部門を獲得したMaxisのSporeと並んで今回極めて高い評価になっています。

今年は一番最初のプレスカンファレンスからして、まさにFallout 3と共に幕を開けて、Fallout 3で終わった格好のE3。あのOblivionから早2年、海外メディアからは細部まで徹底的に作り込まれた、まるで生きているかのように魅力的な世界、RPGでありながらユニークな戦闘システムによるプレイスタイルの幅広さが今回も特に高く評価されており、いよいよ今年10月の発売に向けてこれからますます大きな注目を集めることは間違いなさそうです。
