ゲームでお馴染みのリュウ・カン（Ludi Lin）、クン・ラオ（Max Huang）、サブ・ゼロ/ビ・ハン（Joe Taslim）、スコーピオン/ハンゾウ・ハサシ（真田広之）、ジャックス（Mehcad Brooks）、ソニア・ブレイド（Jessica McNamee）、カノウ（Josh Lawson）に加えて、ゲームには登場していないコール・ヤング（Lewis Tan）なるオリジナルキャラクターの姿も。ストーリーの大筋はゲーム版から継承しているようですが、果たしてこのオリジナルキャラクターはどのような役割を果たすのでしょうか。
